I’m participating in the Storefront Art Walk in Bay Ridge. I chose Jean Danet on 76 Street and 5th avenue, with long windows. Here’s a map of the Art Walk and some photos below:

Since the storefront I chose is a great bakery and I’m sticking to my new-painting-a-month-resolution, I created three pastry-inspired paintings:

It’s up for one month, go check it out (and get dessert)!

My monthly painting for April was created for Hops for Hope, a fundraising event benefiting Japan. All of the proceeds will go to MercyCorps, partnered with Peace Winds. It’s this Wednesday, come if you can! Below is the flyer and the mixed media piece I created:

i’ve had this idea floating around in my head for a while now  :]

Korean Interview

I was interviewed by a Korean blogger and friend last week! Here’s the article: http://micon.miclub.com/board/viewArticle.do?artiNo=81771588&listCateNo=900&listPage=1

If you can read Korean, check it out! Or if you can’t read Korean (like me), here are some of the picutres taken of my studio space. Also, please vote for the article by clicking on the white box (with the orange # in it) towards the bottom of the page. Thanks!

Tilly Takes A Try

I am super excited to announce that my second children’s book is being published! The title of the book is Tilly Takes A Try, here’s the blurb:

Tilly is seven years old and she always dreads the first day of everything! She doesn’t like new situations or new people, but Tilly’s too big to hide behind a grown-up any more, or under her blanket. Things change for her during the first meeting of a new karate class.

I worked with the author Gail Noppe-Brandon, founder of Find Your Voice, to create this wonderful book. Here is a link to purchase Tilly Takes A Try: http://www.authorhouse.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?BookId=SKU-000379755

And here are some images from the book:
